Integrative Therapy

Integrative therapy is a holistic approach in which a combination of tools and techniques are used from a variety of therapeutic approaches (see below), to provide an individual approach depending on your needs and goals for therapy. An integrative approach allows a more flexible and inclusive approach to treatment, taking into account your mental, physical and emotional needs

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT proposes that our thoughts and feelings affect the way we behave. It is a short-term therapy which focuses on current issues, and providing one with practical solutions to current problems, rather than delving into ones past. CBT looks to help individuals identify, challenge, and change unhealthy thought patterns (cognitive) in order to change ones response (behaviour). CBT can be a helpful therapy for depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, trauma and PTSD, anger issues, stress, amongst other common issues that can negatively impact ones mental health and quality of life.

Therapeutic approaches used include:

Trauma focused CBT
Mindfulness
Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT)

Humanistic Therapy

The humanistic therapy focuses on the individual as a whole, and looks at how ones worldview impacts the choices they make. It is based on the principle that you are the best person to understand your own experiences and needs, therefore encourages individuals to consider their feelings and take responsibility for their thoughts and actions. The emphasis is on self-development and achieving ones highest potential.
